TOLLESBORO — Willard Edward White, 85, of Tollesboro, died Friday, Jan. 12, 2007 at his residence. He is survived by his wife, Louanna Bryant White.
Mr. White was born April 5, 1921, in Fleming County to the late Vinard Edward and Anna Mae Reeder White.
Mr. White was a retired tug boat captain for Ashland Oil after working for the company for 45 years. He attended Tollesboro United Methodist Church, was a past member of the Tollesboro Lions Club, was an original board member of Tollesboro Christian School, and started White Hams in 1983.
He is survived by his children, Terry (Karen) White, Sandra (Rick) Lanthorn and Rex White, all of Tollesboro; grandchildren, Amy White, Ashley White, Chelsi White and Alan White; great-grandchild, Chloe White; and three sisters, Lena Lay of Orlando Fla., Phyllis Montgomery of Flemingsburg, and Norma Mason of Chillocothee, Ohio.
In addition to his parents, Mr. White was preceded in death by two brothers, Harry White and Don White; and one sister, Ruby Doyle.
Services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 16, 2007 at Barbour & Son Funeral Home with Brother Phil Cropper officiating.
Burial will be in Mount Carmel Cemetery in Mount Carmel.
Visitation is 5-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Erie - Mignon I. White, age 95, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, September 24, 2021. She was born in Titusville, PA on August 9, 1926, daughter of the late Floyd and Hazel Jones. She was also preceded in death by her beloved husband, Willard L. White; her precious daughter, Sandra L. Richter; her brothers, Jake, Louis, and Kenneth; and her sisters, Sophie, Clara, Annie, and Delores.
She is survived by three daughters, Joyce Stainbrook (Thomas), Sharon Fitch, and Mary Mauk (Lonnie); 10 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, and 13 great-great-grandchildren.
Her husband fell in love with her at first sight when she was 10 years old, married her when she was 17 when he was on the leave from the Navy in WW11 and continued to love her for the next 57 years. They had four daughters that she always called her four roses. She also told each one of them that they were her favorite and imagine their surprise when they found out that she had told each one of them that.
In her younger days, she loved to roller skate and had the nickname Flash. She loved to bowl and play cards with her friends and family members. She was an outstanding cook and was famous for her goulash. She raised all of us to be strong, independent individuals. Her hands pray
