5 Dagestani MMA Fighters Aiming For ONE World Title Glory
Dagestan was best known for its rugged terrain and tough wrestlers, but these days, the Russian republic’s mixed martial arts stars are representing their nation in front of a worldwide audience.
Despite having a population of just 3.1 million, the North Caucasian region punches above its weight when it comes to combat sports.
Many of its athletes have already found success on the global stage of ONE Championship — including former ONE World Champions Marat “Cobra” Gafurov and Alaverdi “Babyface Killer” Ramazanov.
However, the future looks just as bright. Here are five more Dagestani phenoms who have World Title hopes in The Home of Martial Arts.

“Maestro” has been a perennial top contender ever since, even earning a win over future ONE Flyweight World Champion Adriano “Mikinho” Moraes back at ONE: WA

#5 Kevin Belingon – 6 KOs
A trio of true veterans of The Home Of Martial Arts share fifth place on the list of all-time knockout leaders, and all three have distinct ways of giving the judges a break on event night.
Kevin “The Silencer” Belingon’s striking proficiency comes from his wushu background, and he used it to start picking up wins at the highest level way back in October 2012 when he stopped Yusup Saadulaev with punches.
The Team Lakay representative is perhaps best known for his spectacular kicking arsenal, but it was his blistering hand speed that was the downfall of many of his other opponents – including Toni “Dynamite” Tauru and Reece “Lightning” Mclaren, who fell in the first round.
However, the former ONE Bantamweight World Champion’s signature stoppage came at home in the Phili
